New FIIN Book

The new agenda setting collection from FIIN Gender, Politics, and Institutions: Towards a Feminist Institutionalism has been published by Palgrave Macmillan. Co-edited by Mona Lena Krook (Washington University in St Louis) and Fiona Mackay (University of Edinburgh), this groundbreaking collection synthesises new institutionalism and gendered analysis in a new approach: feminist institutionalism, in order to answer crucial questions about power inequalities, mechanisms of continuity, and the gendered limits of change.
With a foreword by Joni Lovenduski, the book draws together scholars from the UK, North America, Europe and Australia who apply feminist institutionalist analysis to diverse topics including: candidate selection, legislative behaviour, welfare policies and welfare state restructuring, democratic transitions, multi-level governance, and international law.
The collection is one of the launch titles of the new Palgrave Gender and Politics series and was officially launched at the Second European Conference on Politics and Gender in Budapest in January 2011.
