New Marie Curie fellow

Congratulations to FIIN member and early career scholar,  Rosalind Cavaghan, who has been awarded a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship by the European Commission.

The highly competitive  Intra European Fellowship (IEF) will enable Rosalind to undertake exciting new post-doctoral research on EU policy responses to the financial crisis. She will hold the fellowship at Raboud University Nijmegen, in the Netherlands, where she will work with leading feminist political scientist Professor Mieke Verloo.

Rosalind's PhD, from University of Edinburgh, developed an innovative approach to examine the  European Commission's efforts to implement gender mainstreaming. The thesis was supervised by Dr Richard Freeman and Prof Fiona Mackay.  Rosalind's new project will apply the same methodology to examine the gendered  content of the EC's responses to the financial crisis and the policy-making processes which led to them.
