FIIN member wins top PhD prize

Congratulations to FIIN co-ordinator Meryl Kenny (Edinburgh) who has been awarded  a prestigious PhD prize by the UK Political Studies Association for her doctoral thesis, Gendering Institutions: The Political Recruitment of Women in Post-Devolution Scotland.  The judges said:

"This is an impressive thesis [...] the discussion of feminist institutionalism is thoughtful and insightful [...] and makes a significant contribution to the existing literature".

The Arthur McDougall Fund Prize is awarded annually for the best dissertation on elections, electoral systems or representation. Meryl studied for her PhD at Edinburgh, where she is currently an ESRC Post-doctoral Fellow. Congratulations, Meryl!
